Our Geotechnical Specialty Division provides owners, developers and contractors with a full suite of geotechnical design/build solutions including Deep Foundations (Piles), Earth Retention, Grouting, and Underpinning.
Deep Foundations (Piles):
Deep foundation systems (aka piles) transfer structural loads through unsuitable bearing soils and down to a proper bearing stratum. Loads are transmitted via end bearing or frictional side resistance in the underlying “deep” bearing soils. Most of our deep foundation systems cause little to no vibrations and are well suited for building additions or installation near existing structures. Visit here for more info on our deep foundation systems including Drilled Micropiles, Helical Piles, Ductile Iron Piles (DIPs), and Displacement Piles.

Grouting and Underpinning:
Our grouting and underpinning technologies are actually where the HELICAL story began over 30 years ago when our founder Rimas Veitas (a structural engineer) would sometimes get requests to evaluate distressed structures. Frequently the structural distress was the result of poor soil conditions. An opportunity was realized and a company was born! Today, our grouting and underpinning systems help address geotechnical issues with existing structures such as settlement, protection from adjacent excavations, and adding new loads to existing foundations. Visit here for more on our grouting systems and here for more info on our underpinning systems.
